Bergara vs tikka

I understand this is more of an apples to oranges type question, nonetheless this seems to be my conundrum. I am however looking to fill a western hunting rifle role with whatever I choose.

My concerns here is the weight and value. I may be splitting hairs and over complicating the issue, but I prefer to buy once and not go through what I consider the hassle of flipping a hunting rifle later on. Thanks in advance. I have yet to see any factory-produced rifle out shoot a Tikka. My one and only complaint with them is their short barrel lengths. I have a Tikka heavy barrel in.

My sons first big game rifle was a Tikka Model in I got for him about 15 years ago and shoots well under MOA with factory ammo. I had a T3 Lite in that also shot under MOA and the nice thing is you can adjust that trigger from underneath without removing the action from the stock. I have only read of one instance where a person had problems with a Begara and that was on here a few years ago. You probably can't go wrong with either one.

Rifle brand. Howa, Tikka, Bergara...

I would go with Bergara Premier Stalker, if that's not in your budget the Tikka. I have a bergara b14 ridge in 6. Super smooth action as well. I know it's not the HMR but still an awesome shooting rifle. I think the feel of the bergara as far as the stock goes it better as well.

You can't go wrong with either one.

I've owned several Tikkas and one Bergara, go with the Tikka! Another vote for Tikka. What caliber you looking for? Posted August 15, I'm very happy with my Tikka 7MM. They are guaranteed 1 MOA or less out of the box. Posted August 16, Both the rifles we are looking at today could be called 'crossover' rifles - but really, it turns out live at opposite ends of the spectrum.

bergara vs tikka

A rifle suitable for both hunting out to range, but then equally at home shooting at the rangeor one of the many field steel style shoots popping up at the moment. The Tikka T3X CTR and Bergara B14 HMR are two great options — and right from the start, I am going to say you would ultimately be happy with either — but — at the same time, that have a few differences in concept and execution that separate them. Sure, there are a lot more viable options these days, for but a time, a T3 Lite in a 7mm08 or. To be fair, it really is an improved pattern — and as such, takes Remington accessories and triggers, without much effort. Both, in the 6.

Both actions feel good. Yes, comparing the two, you would call the Tikka smoother, and the HMR more agricultural. Not that it makes an iota of differnce in shooting them. The stocks, well, are vastly different.

You are looking at a lightweight plastic stock on the CTR, while the HMR boasts a heavier, aluminium mini-chassis stock. This right, I feel, is the major difference between the two, and, for someone comparing them — this might be the deciding factor.

I have been looking for a crossover rifle — this was a big part of my initial interest in the CTR, and, when it come available to have a play with, the HMR. However, the more I think about it, the more I find myself challenged to decide between the two. Either way, you seem to be compromising in part. For hunting, the weight consideration instantly leans towards the CTR. If I was talking one for a walk, hunting for a couple of days, there is no question that I would pick up the CTR first.

The heavier stock soaks up recoil, flexes less under bipod loading and features a few things that I would much prefer in my target rifles. In addition, the Mini Chassis on the HMR logically results in more repeatable, accurate shooting — though, in reality — I would suggest the final result, in this case, is more likely to be a result of ammo choice and shooting skills.

People who are demanding more than what either of these guns can do are likely to also be spending a lot more and tweaking their rifles a lot more. If you want a hunting rifle, that occasionally is going to be used to shoot a field shoot, then the CTR is the lighter, more mobile option.

Both are good triggers, but, user adjustability can result in a lighter trigger on the CTR.

It can actually go what I would consider too light for a hunting rifle and result in a slam firebut, keeping things safe, the Tikka will give you a 2lbs trigger, and the HMR will only go down to 2.

The Tikka to me is a great shooter that is matched by some cheaper rifles in accuracy, such as your Ruger. Something different? Bergara all the way or a new Model 70 Featherweight in 6. Any pros or cons on either rifle? Joined: Dec Big Sky Country. I have both. Depending on use, I would not attribute cons to either other than weight. It's a benefit at the bench but a pain while hunting. I love the HMR; but, it's going down the road shortly. I am keeping my CTR. It does everything the HMR does in a lighter package, not by much, but it is lighter. With the little recoil of the 6. Spotting hits is easier with the HMR; but, once again, not by much, especially if both wear a brake.

The one big plus for the HMR is the stock adjustability.

For me, this is a non-issue; but, it is a feature difference. I think you would be happy with either as I know I would. Choosing between the two, my choice goes to the CTR. BigSky, What do you think of the two different types of magazines, any issues? I know people who have one or the other and all seem to be very happy with their choice, very positive reports on both.

bergara vs tikka

JavaScript is disabled. For a better experience, please enable JavaScript in your browser before proceeding. Tikka T3x or Bergara B in 6. I've decided to purchase a new 6. I've done a lot of reading and I've nothing but good about Tikka and I like the idea of the Bergara being based on the Rem I went and looked at them the other day and both have features I like and the actions felt pretty good.

On my sample of one, I have to give the nod to Tikka for having the smoothest action. I've been using a Remington that I've owned for right at 40 years so naturally I looked at those as well. I've read a lot about quality issues with the newer Remington's and I think I saw first hand what people have been saying.

I was holding a new Magpul and the first thing I noticed was the barrel was not centered in the barrel channel.

It was pretty bad Anyhow, I am reaching out to you folks for input on Tikka vs.
